UI mods and trainer mods are mods that create persistent in-game menus and HUD replacements. Trainer mods (typically bound to F4 or the numpad) aggregate lots of cheats and developer tools into one easy-to-use menu: spawn vehicles, teleport to waypoint, stop time, infinite ammo, free camera, adjust time of day.
Trainers vs HUDs
Trainers are utility menus you activate when you want them. HUDs stay on screen all the time - minimap, weapon wheel, ammo counter, objectives. Cinematic HUDs remove all of it for screenshots. Competitive FPS HUDs add timers and precise ammo counts. Minimal HUDs clean it up for better immersion. Most people have one trainer and one HUD overhaul; they work fine together because they modify different elements of the UI.
Hotkeys and bindings
Trainer mods usually rebind a key chord (F4 or num+ by default) to open the menu. Choose one that doesn't conflict with existing bindings in your game - F4 is safe because it's the unofficial modding-scene standard and rarely overlaps with anything important. HUD mods just display things passively, so they don't need to be bound to anything. Some HUD mods allow you to toggle elements with hotkeys if you're taking screenshots.

Frequently asked
UI / Menus FAQ
1What's the best GTA 6 trainer?
Go with the most-downloaded trainer in the ui-menus category at GTAModding.net - it will be the most-tested and most-updated. Trainers turn over rapidly, so checking the leaderboard every patch is a good sanity check.
2Are trainer menus the same as cheat codes?
Trainers put cheats in a UI menu instead of making you remember button combinations. Some trainers can do things regular cheats cannot, like persistent saves, custom loadouts and one-click sandbox creation.
3Will a HUD mod affect framerate?
Typically, negligibly. HUD mods tend to be purely user interface replacements that incur no additional rendering cost. Cinematic HUDs that introduce depth-of-field or vignettes can cost a few frames; pure replacement HUDs won't cost anything.
4Can I use trainers in multiplayer?
No. They hook into the game's scripting engine and are detected by anti-cheat. Only use them in offline single-player, and disable them before starting any official online session.
